oldrover Posted August 24, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2016 (edited) This may be great, this may be nothing. Either way, this is the 'Daily Mail'. Better coverage is in 'The Independant' http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/coma-patient-ultrasound-breakthrough-jump-start-brain-a7207511.html In which they acknowledge that the recovery may be coincidental. The patient wasn't in a 'coma', they had a reduced level of conciseness, there is a significant difference, as far as I understand the use of the common use of the term 'coma'. Neither story seems to address this. Nor do they make any reference to how the head injury was sustained. For anyone who doesn't know, the difference between 'The Independent' and 'The Daily Mail', it's rather like 'the man in the pub', and, 'a lunatic you have to run from in the street'. Neither are capable of giving a serious coverage of this story. Whatever the origins of this story, it definitely does not deal with 'head injury' in a general sense. And until either can link to the actual paper, it's just another piece of clickbait. Edited August 24, 2016 by oldrover
