I'm a 52 yr old male and all my life I've thought I had some kind of ability but could never figure it out. When I was younger I could almost always pick the correct outcome of a coin toss but only when I "felt' lucky. Now that I'm older I get very few 'feelings' but once in a while I know for sure the outcome of something. It was so strong today I had to write about it and try to figure it out. I'm not a sports guy but this morning I knew for sure the cubs would win the pennant tonight. The way I 'knew' it was that I could 'feel' that there would be no game on TV tomorrow for me to watch. (if they won there would be no need for the next game) I can't 'feel' the outcome of the game, only that the way it effects me is that I won't be watching a game tomorrow and I just knew it 100%. What is it I'm feeling and where can I learn more about it?

Has this sporting match been completed ? If so, and you are telling us about your "certain knowledge" only now, you are an example of the dreaded "aftertimer" !

I would keep a journal and write down everytime you have this feeling and keep track of how much times you're right vs wrong

We have to conclude that anyone that had a reliable way of "seeing" the outcome of sporting events in advance, would send Vegas bookies broke. They aren't broke. So either this gift is not that reliable, or jacks up when you try to turn it to your ends. I am not saying it does not exist, though.

Hello and welcome to UM

I have/had a similar situation, where I instantly knew (about 7-8 out of 10) who was ringing me on the landline, without picking up the phone. Then the ability would go away for a long while, then it returns. This started when I was about 25 years old, and its ongoing.

Keep a journal of notes before and after the feelings of luck to see if there is a pattern.

In sports games, there were always pools going among sports fans at work or other places. I'm not a sports fan but when I got a hunch or felt it, I played mostly to be social. I won average 3 out of 4 times I'd play! I'd just guess with whatever came to me. I won some pretty hefty bets all luck or coincidence.

I noticed in gaming things when I can have the mentality of statistics working in my mind very fast and automatically,  I was prepared for luck in one way for casino games. It doesn't always come to me though.

There is also something else at work as well with luck, a very important factor. You can feel lucky but timing is actually more important than if you feel it in yourself. It is the house odds and the individual machine you pick.  I mean you might play and win profit but it is smaller or larger depending on the machine itself. When you know how to play it out to overcome the odds but the hit is not winable at maximum even if you win.

The only machine I learned by total statics to beat in the end all the time was a skilled gaming one. The machines eventually were banned in my state and taken away and people who owned them were very angry with me, even though watching me win encouraged others to play.   I watched a guy who won alot and others for months in my spare time and saw a pattern and so when I played in an illogical kind of way to most players it would pay out to me at the max. I flew high for a couple of months, it was fun.

All machines are programmed to sucker you in after a first hit. You can use that toward your advantage if the machine has been well fed prior to you starting to play, it is capable of  a higher payout too.

You feel like you start to know  how the machine is thinking, by the statics and playing very low wagers or if it's just a taking machine in the lineup. It's total chance if you pick the right machine at the right time. It's self control and not using your money as the feeder money! I only start with $6-$20 at the most.

As my father always taught me only play money you win for the larger wagers if you feel the luck and keep most wins in your pocket. Never bet what you don't want to lose.

I have fun with the other gamers and many give me their money to play for them. It is rewarding when can I win for them. I have fun of the challenge of beating the odds with no risk. I always keep first win so they don't lose their money on me.

Welcome to Um Mike :st

As others have suggested, keep a journal of this sort of thing. Perhaps post on a blog here when you get those feelings, and post it when you get them.. and see how much it matches up or not. A term to help you along with what you are describing would be precognition.

I generally know who is calling me too...  but why on earth wouldn't you?  How many people, realistically, are on your contacts list that will call out of the blue, and of those how many have a fairly regular 'schedule', or may get anxious or just miss the other (you and them both) after a set period of time?  Then you will *both* be expecting a call.. and that desire to hear from them will make it even more notable when they ring - "Omigod I was just thinking about you..".  Well, yes, you both probably were, simply because the contact was due/overdue.  Plus there can be many other subtle triggers for events, eg a song being played on the radio that you may both listen to, a news report on a topic that in some way reminds you of them, a time of day you both tend to take a break, and so on almost ad infinitum.

Our brains are wired to operate like this, much of it is basic to survival and a happy life, so why should it be a surprise?  Then add statistics and probability to the mix - only those who have had this happen recently will likely report it (and of course the type of person to do that, is attracted to sites like these..).

Life, statistics/probability and brains are incredibly complex and intertwined - worthy of a bit deeper thought before attributing stuff to spirits, special powers, or just suggesting it can't be explained.

Check out Synchronicity.

I understand you completely. There is definitely more to intuition and visions than current science can pinpoint. I also have these feelings it takes time to learn to listen and identify them but it definitely streamlines your life if you can.
