ellapenella Posted November 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2016 Closing Year of Mercy, Francis says ‘God has no memory of sin’ “Even if the Holy Door closes, the true door of mercy, which is the heart of Christ, always remains open for us,” Pope Francis said Sunday in a Mass marking the formal close of his jubilee Year of Mercy. “God has no memory of sin, but only of us, of each of us, we who are his beloved children.” https://cruxnow.com/vatican/2016/11/20/closing-year-mercy-francis-says-god-no-memory-sin/
Keel M. Posted November 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2016 God may not have memory of sin, but Christians have memories about sin that lasts for years, unless it's their own sin. Then they, too, are like god and have no memory of sin.

I have no problem with that. It's the pope's message not god's. (I still don't understand why he's supposedly important)

(I still don't understand why he's supposedly important) Being Catholic it is believed that he is in the direct line of spiritual leaders in a long succession since Jesus left the world. Popes are Christ's representative to the church until he returns. To me, he is important as a leader to many people of the Catholic faith in the world. He is a good and humble man with a message of kindness and mercy by serving others in his way. There was one Pope during Hitler's rein who aligned himself with the Allies to help get rid of the evils of the Nazis. Popes have a vast network of Catholics to have influence on the world's political problems whether or not we are of the dogmatic faith. That is why I see a Pope as important to all of us as long as they are true believers and doers of the higher cause of peace, charity, mercy to others and good custodians of the earth.

The only thing that matters to me is that you temper your belief with reason and humanity. Some people get dangerously out of hand with their beliefs. Probably off.topic, but getting dangerously out of hand applies not.only to Christian / Catholic faith(s). we find extremist in most (if not all) religions. In other words supporting ur statement Edited November 21, 2016 by DebDandelion
