Someone gave me their old Playstation 2. I ordered the cords and controller from ebay. I haven't played video games for many years, I'll play the old games again these cold winter nights. I suppose that's my Christmas present to myself. I have a phony four foot Christmas tree and some lights around windows that make the house Christmasy. All my close relatives are dead and I don't even know their progeny. I used to visit a few friend's homes on Christmas but I gave that up. I felt like an orphan old man there for charity. Now I spend my Christmas's by myself, sometimes generating the Christmas spirit. It's not really a big deal for me anymore, though I enjoy the day as it's been a special day in the past. It's still a nice time of the year. Merry Christmas! you could go and find some homeless person or people to spend the holiday with. but, be careful. someone who can't spend on presents due to lack of funds. There are charities in my town who distribute Christmas presents to the needy, the Salvation Army, a couple of church-based help places for these people and a place that offers free breakfast and lunch for those in need. Also, some charity gives free Christmas dinners in a box, and other free food now and then. I think to get free food in a box now you have to show a current electric bill. There used to be homeless wino's who lived under a rr bridge by the river. I wouldn't know where to find the homeless. The problem with homeless people is why are they homeless? On a whim, I once went with some people standing on a street corner to get a free lunch. There were about 20 people there. So I think the needy around here are taken care of as well as they can be. This summer I've seen an occasional hitchhiker around Walmart. Once a guy with his wife or girlfriend. Thing is, invite these people home you never know what you might get into. I'd rather give someone some money and let them go on their way. What they do with a little cash is their business. As I asked before, why are these people homeless or in need? The needy around here have options for help, charities, Salvation Army, etc. I know sometimes good people get into a fix that's not their fault. Perpetual homeless or needy people have a different problem, usually psychological or sociological, I think. Myself being street-wise I know what's going on in this world. There's a huge drug problem in this country, and many who are poor are poor because of this. I've known some of them. We have to realize some are not safe to associate with, those who are not willing to help themselves.. For those who won't help themselves any help you give them is money going to drugs or alcohol instead of paying their rent. Giving them food means they don't have to buy food, so they have more cash for their habits. We can only help those who seriously want to help themselves. It's a difficult and sad situation for most of them.

We regularly give out cards to let them know where they can go, but most times they aren't interested.
