And it's heart was in the right place, but there was something off about the whole shebang. that said, one of my students dressed up as Heisenberg from that film for a dress up day and said that although the film was scary she was cool, so it inspired her. It felt too forced and not enough character development for me. I like an actually slow paced movie and comedy that not trying to comedy. That's what made the original work so well. I was paced well and you liked the characters. The humor was just there.

Prometheus had it's moments, other than the forced and mediocre premise and the almost complete lack of characters you could care about. It sort of worked Aliens as gruesome slimeyness to death. It's only in recent years that we have started to detect earth like planets, and they are turning up thick and fast these days. I suspect your prediction that evolution stops at simple forms will very soon be disproved. I think life most likely exists out there. Intelligent life much less. Lots of factors to consider. Extinction level events would limit it. Apex predators also factor into it. How many years was there life on Earth before humans advanced to where we are. The history of Earth shows quite clearly that intelligence is far from common, in fact we know of only one species that developed advanced technologies, among the hundreds of millions (possibly billions) of species that have existed on Earth. 1 hour ago, Myles said: How many years was there life on Earth before humans advanced to where we are. A point I have often made in the past There's been life on Earth for at least 3.500,000,000 years. There's been life capable of making metal tools for something like 6,000 years. There's been life capable of voluntarily leaving Earth's orbit for 50 years. If the same applies elsewhere, then out of every 50 million planets on which life evolves, we might epect to find maybe just one with a species of similar intelligence to ourselves. And it may well be that we have already found that one planet .... Of course, that doesn't mean the universe isn't full of alien dinosaurs and trilobites and stromatolites (which may in fact be one of the more common forms of carbon based life in the universe). Just not alien humanoids.
