Habitat Posted January 4, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Well, I can see that fish do represent the contents of the unconscious, and that the ocean the unconscious realm itself. The "very deep" waters are then the very depths of the unconscious. Or at least, that is what I surmise. Maybe I see the deep contents of the unconscious, as being marketed by an over-commercialised world as something they are not, seemingly desirable, but in reality a poor substitute for that which is of genuine value. Clearly there is something in that, which I am not reconciled to.
Mbyte Posted January 4, 2017 #27 Share Posted January 4, 2017 Yea that's a pretty good surmise of the dream. It can't too far off.

spartan max2 Posted January 4, 2017 #29 Share Posted January 4, 2017 (edited) I have a question . I find it interesting that you said it's with the family and the family members are always changing. But I notice you never mention what they are doing. Are they helping with the job as it gets worse or are they just going to the beach? Is the decision soley up to you in the dream what to do? In the dream, I am a young fella again, and on a family beach holiday. The family members in the dream may vary from dream to dream, but the plot is fairly consistent. We get the beach house rent-free, in return for some tarting up of the interior paintwork, which on first inspection seems like a good deal, the defects appear to be minor. The land-lady is always the same woman, and reminds me of a woman I did rent a house off many years ago. As the dream unfolds, the paint repair job which seemed simple, turns into a nightmare, and nothing goes right, to the extent that the holiday turns into hard work, and I am torn between doing the right thing, as agreed, and actually having holiday time. This becomes quite vexing as time runs out for the holiday, and the paint is looking far worse than it did when we got there ! All in all, an unpleasant dream, every time. I seem to be blind-sided by this, and cannot work out what it is trying to tell me. Any ideas ? Not a pro at this nor am I psychic or anything like that but.... Upon reading this my first thought was that the dream is about reconciling with a family member or close friend you once viewed as family. Maybe one with addiction issues? There are some pretty good drinkers in the family, but I'm a bit surprised by this angle !

It is a bit vague, but others are involved in the debacle of touching up the paint. They don't seem too worried about it all, but it is annoying the heck out of me. The land-lady is usually there, and doesn't seem too concerned either, but I feel this strong compulsion to rectify matters, but is just goes from bad to worse, there are big bubbles appearing in the paint, ugly dark streaks.....oh the misery of it, compounded by the knowledge the holiday has just about run out of time. Habitat Posted January 4, 2017 Author #34 Share Posted January 4, 2017 An interesting addendum (perhaps) to the paint patch-up dream. Last night I dreamt I was repairing paintwork again, but this time it was at my late father's house, which I did actually tidy up for sale, years ago. This time, there is no drama, until there is a knock at the door, and a woman hands me some rolled-up sheets of water, announcing "you are served". A process server ! Nothing I have ever experienced in real life, but opening the papers, I see it is on behalf of a plaintiff John Edward, occupation "clairvoyant" ! It is for damages incurred for my having encouraged someone to back out of a business deal. Again, this does not correspond to my real life experiences, but in the dream I can only laugh at what seems a ridiculous, unactionable complaint. I am not the least concerned by it. But I am not getting the import of this dream at the moment !
cluey Posted January 22, 2017 #35 Share Posted January 22, 2017 I is coming across as there is continual work that you have not worked on enough in your life.......bad habit, something that you have needed to fix either mentally......or need closure with even if its house orientated......
