back to earth Posted January 3, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2017 No , thats not a mark, that is an implant, you cant see it from the outside and it does not make one recognisable, it just opens a door. So it is not the mark of the beast at all.

Podo Posted January 3, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 3, 2017 I would love a chip that allows me to open doors, buy things, check in to airports, contain my medical information, and generally make my life a lot easier. If the Christians are too scared to get one due to "mark of the beast" superstition, that just means the lineups will be smaller
simplybill Posted January 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2017 It's not the technology that will make people reject 'the mark'. The technology is great. However, there will be some requirement associated with it that will cause many people to risk starvation rather than comply. Think of any contentious topic here on UM. For example, what if you had to sign an agreement that the Earth is 6,000 years old: would you swear allegiance to that concept and swear an oath to forever reject science, or would you find the idea so reprehensible that you'd risk starvation rather than ignore your conscience? That's the situation people of faith will be forced into. By the time we're to the point of having to make the choice, only a very narrow and watered-down definition of religion will be considered acceptable. Anyone following a different path than the state-sanctioned one will be ostracized. It will be like Stalin's Russia on steroids.

My mother told me that like 40 years ago when a Swedish town considered barcodes for transactions. Not sure if it was true or not, but the paranoia has been around for ages. Maybe this is Gods way of thinning out the creationists LOL

I won't be able to go for a paddle in my canoe, walk my dog or cut firewood with my chainsaw, unless I have a microchip in my hand? How soon? I need time to adjust.

Audio Imagez Posted January 4, 2017 #16 Share Posted January 4, 2017 No religious concerns here. I just wouldn't feel comfortable having electronic implants in my body for the sake of convenience.

Even if they say you have to be chipped to buy the fuel to run the chainsaw, you can always brew some . There are all sorts of ways to make a canoe and paddle, or hang on to old ones ( after they introduce the 'chip' in paddle one, that sends info on where you are going to 666 HQ ). Walk the dog ? Ummmmmm ..... has he already got a chip ? Here , they need a chip .... to ....... just to be a dog, I suppose .

And she goes canoeing with me. “The choice for mankind lies between freedom and happiness and for the great bulk of mankind, happiness is better.”

XenoFish Posted January 4, 2017 #22 Share Posted January 4, 2017 This chip will be just another option. We still have paper money even though we have bank cards.
XenoFish Posted January 4, 2017 #23 Share Posted January 4, 2017 I do like the idea of sex offenders, rapist, and murderers being chipped. So if they escape we can just track them down. Put it inside their skull though.

Of course it wouldn't be that hard to just simply "chip" everyone -- after all, why should you object if you've nothing to hide?

With that in mind. How well would such a thing go over in the political arena? Not to well I'd suppose. I really don't think a lot of government officials would like people to know where they're at 24/7. Would be a lot harder to make backroom deals.
