Widow's lost wedding ring found after 30 years

A widow has been reunited with her long-lost wedding ring after her metal detecting son-in-law discovered it in her garden 30 years after it fell off her finger.

Irene Freeman, 70, lost the ring outside her home in 1985 while she was playing with her nine-year-old daughter, Kat.

She didn't realise the 22 carat gold band had come off until later that day and despite looking for it in the small front garden, she could not find her beloved possession.

Despite searching regularly for the ring over the years, she had given up hope of ever seeing it again.

  • The title was changed to Widow's lost wedding ring found after 30 years

Oh come off it.  That gardens tiny. Surely that ring couldn't have been there for 30 years. I mean simply mowing the lawn would've either turned it up or thrown it away. Sorry but I simply can't believe this is for real.
