What I don't understand is why don't people go to the police, protect themselves by getting and training in firearms, or moving to a secure location, installing cameras and alarms, getting a professionally trained dog etc instead of caving in to criminals? Dana White was talking about how mafia (or something like it) came to his gym when he was teaching class and these guys were demanding money from him like he owed them money. He basically threw away his life and moved to another state to start over. I don't understand how mafia can even exist anymore if the justice system is honest. I can only guess that people are made too scared to go to the police. Maybe their wives, children, families are threatened and sleeping at night is more important than living with death threats over their head? Well kinda I guess lol I work for a big construction company. I manage our Truck department. We have in all 35 trucks. Of all different kinds. I mostly deal with our dump truck drivers. I don't think the owners are straight up mafia, but they are definitely associated. Its not that guys who try to grow in the business would get physically hurt, they would just suddenly find that no one who can give them steady work will hire them anymore. When you have at least two truck payments, you end up sinking pretty fast. Though I've heard stories from back in the 70's and 80's where if they thought you were getting to big, they'd not only take your work from you, but would do things like spray a couple hundred gallons of diesel fuel all over your lawn, or shop. Today they don't have to hurt you, they just squeeze you out and leave you bankrupt.

You mean they undercut your prices so you lose customers on price point and even if they take a loss they're big enough to absorb the losses while the little guy's not? I guess that makes sense. That's not really mafia though, just regular people every day lol Mafia was huge where I came from. In the '70s there were cases of rigging car bombs to ignitions, guys going out to their car turning the key and kaboom. There was a joke that the barber would cut your hair for $10 and start your car for $20.

Clarakore Posted January 23, 2017 #63 Share Posted January 23, 2017 (edited) Wikileaks is on the case asking for Trump's tax returns in order to publish them. It is now a matter of time whether hackers or a leak will get to them first. This will greatly improve the new ethics lawsuit against Don the Con(flicts of interest) Man. Trump's weakness is not his tax returns, or any potential Russian connections or behavior with prostitutes. His weakness is that he really believes he is God, in a literal sense. That is what will be his downfall.

Raptor Witness Posted February 6, 2017 #66 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Trump telling Bill O'Reilly that America is just as guilty as the Russians, in terms of the indiscriminate murder of people, is perhaps the most interesting thing he has said yet. What's next, spilling the beans about UFO's?

Farmer77 Posted February 6, 2017 #68 Share Posted February 6, 2017 I ****ING LOVE THIS THREAD !!!!!!! So anonymous hackers who were the salt of the earth, "more reliable than mainstream media" , darlings of the right while they were releasing Hillary documents are now untrustworthy CIA assets because they might use their abilities against trump instead of for him????? Honestly, all this is becoming quite ridiculous. The next thing (after the inauguration) will probably be, "Impeach Trump". Of course that means we'll get Mike Pence (who's even more conservative and farther right). Do these 'destroy Trump' folks even think about the ramifications of their actions? Hell, I think I have never, or will, ever say that I consider Trump very stupid. I always have felt he is a very intelligent individual. I mean, he got where he did in business, right? And I feel that Trump was very smart in putting someone like Pence for his VP, because of the fact that there would be some who would wish something could happen to him. I'm just hoping that Trump will put his intelligence in helping every situation in this country that needs helping. If he actually does something that will get all of us together on the same page, without expecting anyone to change their particular outlook, then I'll the guy. Pence on the other hand, .................................................................... If I have to phone in what is going on in my uterus every day, I'll swear I'll............................................ wait a minute, ................................. I could do that to ick a few politicians.

Stubbly_Dooright Posted February 6, 2017 #72 Share Posted February 6, 2017 Quote Thorvir: They're just trying to get attention back to themselves again. IF they actually followed through with just one of their mighty threats, and IF that action actually harmed anyone of important, they'd be destroyed as an "organization" and their members arrested and jailed for a very long time. I thought they have done that on few of their threats.
