rashore Posted January 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2017 Quote A severe storm system that spun off apparent tornadoes, pulverized mobile homes and scattered other destruction around the Southeast has claimed at least 18 lives on a two-day assault on the region, authorities said. The enormous system put millions of people in the South on edge during a weekend of violent weather that destroyed homes, downed trees and caused other damage in the hardest-hit communities from Mississippi to Georgia. The severe weather threat was still continuing Sunday night in some parts, extending into South Carolina and north Florida. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/11-people-killed-georgia-severe-weather-44966228
Lilly Posted January 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 23, 2017 How absolutely horrible, I hope that destructive weather pattern is finally over for those states.
GlitterRose Posted January 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 24, 2017 Storms, droughts, floods...they're just more severe. Great that we have an administration taking it seriously. Oh wait.
rashore Posted January 24, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted January 24, 2017 The administration is already addressing it. The president spoke up about it Sunday and said the states will be getting federal help.
Essan Posted January 24, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 24, 2017 I'm surprised Clump hasn't called a meeting with NOAA to demand they stop this sort of weather ...... Or at least sack them all for incompetence.

If they're going to completely disregard the science, they aren't helping matters. We will continue to see more severe droughts, floods, and storms. The science predicted it.

glorybebe Posted January 24, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 24, 2017 That is horrible. I just read on another news source how a woman and her husband barely escaped from their trailer on time. One reason I hate trailers as they are so unstable when it comes to circumstances like this. But so many people are happy to actually own something they can call their own.
