As I said on another thread here, John Hurt was a truly brilliant actor. Also apparently a decent bloke too. If you've never seen him as Caligula, chase it up.

'We Are Family' Singer Joni Sledge Dies At 60

Joni Sledge of the group Sister Sledge, best known for the iconic disco 1979 anthem We Are Family, has died at 60.

The group's publicist, Biff Warren, said Sledge was found at home in Arizona and they have yet to determine a cause of death. She had not been ill, he said.

"We miss her and hurt for her presence, her radiance, and the sincerity with which she loved & embraced life," the group said in a statement.

‘Avengers’ TV Show Star Patrick Macnee Dies at 93

Patrick Macnee, famous for his role on “The Avengers” British TV series, died Thursday of natural causes at his home in Rancho Mirage, Calif. He was 93.

Macnee, who played John Steed in the spy-fi show, died with his family at his bedside.

“Wherever he went, he left behind a trove of memories,” a statement on the actor’s website read. “Patrick Macnee was a popular figure in the television industry. He was at home wherever in the world he found himself. He had a knack for making friends, and keeping them.”
