Tell us why Trump's being under investigation has anything at all to do with Gorsuh's qualifications to be a Justice on SCOTUS. Remember, many of these same democrats voted unanimously to seat him in his present job. I dont think the president should be allowed to do anything with long lasting ramifications while under investigation for colluding with a foreign superpower. Sure if it all ends up being BS then NBD but if it turns out he and his campaign did collude with Russia then any thing he does has to be reexamined under the light of him being a potential foreign operative. I think that all partisanship aside we should be able to agree that the mess that would create is worth holding off on things like confirming a SCOTUS nominee. Is Investigating Trump’s Russia Ties, Comey Confirms Mr. Comey said the F.B.I. was “investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.” Truthfully man I dont really think theres any meat to it , at least none that can get to trump. I wouldnt be shocked if some mid level staffer ended up taking the fall for any contacts that may appear inappropriate but even that is a slim likelihood. BUT our nation is worth letting the investigation run its course. Edited March 28, 2017 by Farmer77

I still think Gorsuch should be seated as the two are not related. Actually the democrats filibustering may cost them some seats in questionable states so let them play their game

This investigation AFAIK hasn't found anything of real note, other then past associations with various Russian corporation by now Cabinet members. Hillary Clinton had more connections to the Russians then Trump does. http://www.weeklystandard.com/hillarys-russia-connection/article/2004790 If there is no evidence then aren't we supposed to dismiss the statement? See Obama Wiretapping scandal.... No evidence of Obama doing anything, so it must be dismissed. Right? EDIT: So... Wait... People say "Trump is under investigation", but it seems that ONLY his campaign staff are suspect, right? The two are synonymous? But when Trump says, "Obama wiretapped me", that has to be about Obama, and not "Obama's people"? That smell of hypocrisy to me. He was the top Executive after all, right? And the top executive can order his subordinates, right? Or, are we to assume the President has zero influence over DOJ, and the FBI?? Well I was wrong, I thought they had dropped that investigation so I have to admit my error. Do I think there is anything there? No, it is all BS. Do I think it will ever end? Nope, this is the new normal, they can't handle losing over 1200+ elected seats since 2010, a record and so need to blame some outside force rather than face the truth. That is a good thing as they won't concentrate on why they really lost so much influence.
Claire. Posted April 6, 2017 #109 Share Posted April 6, 2017 Senate Republicans go nuclear, pave the way for Gorsuch confirmation to Supreme Court Senators voted on Thursday to advance Judge Neil Gorsuch’s nomination to serve on the U.S. Supreme Court, setting up a final confirmation vote on Friday. By a vote of to 55 to 45, all Republicans and three Democrats voted to proceed to final debate on the nomination of Gorsuch, 49, a Denver-based judge on the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. If confirmed, Gorsuch would replace the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who died unexpectedly last year, sparking a more than year-long feud among senators about the future makeup of the high court. Why not Posted April 10, 2017 #111 Share Posted April 10, 2017 Besides keeping Hillary Clinton out of the White House and putting the brakes on the liberal craziness, this is why I voted for Trump.

I've heard that Trump could possibly get to put four Justices on the SCotUS. And now there's the simple majority rule to get them confirmed. Thanks to the stubborn Democrats, who couldn't let a man who was perfect for the job have the job. They should have picked their fights, and saved their filibustering till a real horrible candidate was picked. Now Trump could put just about anyone into the SC. Probably even Hannity, or Rush, or LeVine. All he needs is for the Rs to vote along party lines and anyone can be a SC Justice.
