i know someone who told me that she felt mild vibration even when there were no sign or news about the tremors in her country for last one month or more but  10-12hours later the news of earthquake came on the same day,it happened with her for last 3 times, and she is little confused about what she is feeling...

Does she only feel this mild vibration 10 - 12 hours before news of an earthquake or is it at other times as well?  What is she confused about?

What country is she in?

It's pretty well documented that some animals can sense an impending quake so I would say it's reasonable to believe there are humans that can also sense this.

@sees no she doesnt feel vibration from the ground all the time but yeah now days at least for last 3times she is feeling kind of mild vibrations from the ground on the same day when earthquakes came later after 10-12 hours later...

she is confused about why only she is feeling something that is not happened yet or much before its actual occurrence, she is hoping these feelings to be co incidents, because only some animals and insects can predict such vibrations before earthquake comes..but not any human.

An interesting article from Scientific American on this. The gist of it is that neither animals or humans can predict an earthquake. Animals can sense an earthquake as it is happening somewhere far away, and they can also sense the small foreshocks that often precede strong earthquakes — but, they cannot otherwise predict them — and neither can humans.

There is nothing to get confused about really.  She clearly has heightened/advanced sensitivity.  There are probably other people who have this ability but, I would suggest, that it is not common.

What your friend is probably feeling are foreshocks, which, by the way, can occur from a matter of minutes to days or even longer (in some cases up to two years) before the main shock. Some foreshocks are strong enough to be felt by humans and there have been some instances where they were thought to be the actual earthquake. So since she lives in a country where earthquakes occur... well, bingo, there's her answer. Oh and just because she seems to be the only one within her circle to feel these vibrations, that does not mean that she's the only one in her area to have felt them. Hundreds of others could have felt them as well and she would have no way of knowing.

  • 2 weeks later...

There have been studies that looked at reports of the number of lost pets as a measure of odd behavior to determine if animals can predict quakes. The studies showed no correlation.

The reason some people believe there is a possibility is things such as the following.

There are places with lots of quakes such as Japan that invest quite heavily into prediction. So far predicting quakes has not been achieved.
