Still Waters Posted February 20, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2017 Your ability to keep long-distance friendships alive may depend on your gender, according to a new study. Whereas a good gossip on the phone is enough for women to stay close to each other, regular calls have absolutely no effect on men. According to psychologists at Oxford University, male friends need to make the effort to meet up face to face if their "bromance" is to survive. http://news.sky.com/story/men-and-women-need-different-things-to-keep-friendships-alive-10775007
Podo Posted February 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2017 My experience is that this is 100% correct. If I don't see my friends regularly, I definitely feel less connected to them. Talking on the phone or via the internet really doesn't do much for me.

Part of the team or not. Out of sight, out of mind for us. We figure we have enough friends already.
