jxxxp0 Posted February 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 23, 2017 If I were to go to a creepy abandoned place in the middle of the night that is rumored to be haunted with a history of ****ed up stuff (like shawnee amusement park in WV, USA) how many people would watch and why? I want live stream because A) Everything would be legit I can't go home and mess with the video and edit things B ) Very few(or none?) do alot of live streams in spooky places and on YT people get millions of views just for visiting an alleged haunted place C) if I were to catch paranormal activity that would be by far the most legit one. I also want a place large. I don't want a haunted house because most of the time that's owned by someone and they're charging you like over $100 per night, plus they could be messing with things and making my livestream false if not 'haunted' will it being spooky and abandoned enough? papageorge1 Posted February 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2017 I like the thought, but I would think it would be too time consuming for the viewer because these things don't happen on command usually. I would be more interested in seeing any highlights you have the next day.

Places that are banned and illegal to enter for 'unknown reasons'?

I don't care where you go, just pick wherever you think is most likely to produce paranormal activity for your equipment to record. My point was that I foresee having to spend a lot of dedicated time with only a chance that something interesting occurs. That would be a lot of time in front of a live stream. Most people would just want to spend the time seeing the highlights, not the boring parts.

Paranormal stuff aside how about just a creepy place with a bloody history? A place where no one else is brave enough to enter/illegal to enter? Anything can become spooky if you set your mind before hand for it to be that way. Abandoned places, especially at night can certainly be spooky, mainly because you can not see that well at night, you do not know the layout, you do not know who else could be there, spooky = for sure. Haunted = no, that`s taking the next step into freaking yourself out for the "fun" of it.

I don't understand why I get kicks off it though. however I was only curious if others would be interested in watching. If not that's fine. If they were I was planning on live streaming it. Like there are many places in the US that are illegal to enter some for completely unknown reasons whatsoever and are completely abandoned so no one can really enforce people to not enter. A ban might possibly raise suspicion of alien evidence but not paranormal (ghostly) stuff. I am sure you won't get to any alien evidence the government knows is there. Would watch it if you could show any paranormal activity, but remember we have not had any proof so far, not even by the so called "professional" ghost hunters. I would not be interested in watching a video of an abandoned place at night, unless it had some historical interest and it would be much easier on the eye for the viewer if you did it during the day. Unless you are filming in an abandoned mine. 7 minutes ago, jxxxp0 said: Like there are many places in the US that are illegal to enter some for completely unknown reasons whatsoever and are completely abandoned I thought the reason for this would be obvious. Even abandoned places are on land which someone owns, dig deep enough and you will find someone may very well own the building, Another reason why you can not enter them is because it is highly dangerous to enter, hence the signs, also the signs will be an indication that someone does own it and the last thing they want is a lawsuit on their hands because some people enter it for the fun of freaking themselves out. Here are a few things you may want to read first about abandoned property: even if a building meets the legal requirements for abandonment, there can still be an owner. http://adventure.howstuffworks.com/outdoor-activities/urban-sports/legal-to-explore-abandoned-buildings1.htm http://www.wikihow.com/Acquire-Abandoned-Property
Claire. Posted February 23, 2017 #12 Share Posted February 23, 2017 I would never condone breaking the law for any reason — most especially if it's for no other purpose than to film yet another boring video about a ghost hunt. Just about every place imaginable — asylums, cemeteries, homes, amusement parks, you name it — have already been investigated. No one has yet to provide any compelling evidence of paranormal activity. But if you're going to do it, make sure that you get the necessary approvals before entering a place or area. And no, it does not seem suspicious if the government bans a certain location, as it might very well be for safety concerns. If you want to produce a live stream, any spooky place would suffice. Film it in such a way that it is scary and riveting regardless of the lack of paranormal activity. Only that way will you be able to keep a captive audience. No one will otherwise sit around for an hour waiting for the nothing that will happen.

Theres videos on YT that has millions of views just for recording spooky places, this isn't really a 'ghost' hunt or a 'paranormal' hunt it just some spooky places.

You asked about illegal and banned places, hence my caution. You also expressed an interest in haunted locations, hence my comments on the paranormal. As for what will make people enjoy it, think Blair Witch Project and why it was the hit it was. FEAR is ultimately what you want to elicit. The Blair Witch 'style', however, has been one ad nauseam, so try to come up with a concept that is fresh, but will elicit that same type of primal fear. A place with a history, as Freetoroam suggested, is a good place to start as that will help elicit some anxious anticipation from your viewers. It's unlikely you will encounter anything paranormal, so you will need to find a location that is visually scary. A good example of what I mean is the Island of Dolls in Mexico: Once you've come up with your location, you will have to do your live stream in such a way as to make it frightening without the presence of paranormal activity. It will be a good challenge in creativity for you.

Hollywood has the upper hand on this one.
toast Posted February 23, 2017 #16 Share Posted February 23, 2017 Forget about "haunted places". Enter Fort Knox on a Banana-Bike, accompanied by a flock of Chihuahuas, and stream it. I will watch it, be sure.
