Unusual Tournament Posted February 25, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2017 Poll: Majority finds Trump 'embarrassing' President Trump has a 41 percent job approval rating, according to a McClatchy-Marist poll released Thursday that finds 58 percent of Americans are embarrassed by the new administration. Forty-nine percent of those surveyed disapprove of the job the president is doing. Results are sharply divided among partisan lines. Among Republicans, 85 percent approve of the job Trump is doing as president, but only 11 percent of Democrats feel the same way. Only 38 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of Trump, while 54 percent view the president unfavorably. Only 33 percent say the president's actions so far make them proud. http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/320922-poll-trump-gets-41-percent-job-approval-rating

Trump is out to control the media and what they publish and this is against the spirit of the nation he now leeds. You can't make someone like you or print complimentary stories about you. Cause if thats what he want's then maybe Trump would have been better off bring elected president of China, Russia or Turkey. Trump hasn't stepped up and taken ownership of the presidency. He's still fighting a fight he already won 3 months ago. Sir Wearer of Hats Posted February 25, 2017 #13 Share Posted February 25, 2017 My gripe, other than the whole sounding more and more like a dangerous demagogue, is he can't deliver seques, he has all the timing of a Welk.

Assuming the poll was done correctly only having a sample size of about a thousand people is perfectly fine. Would have to go into statistics to explain why and I doubt anyone is interested in the finer details of it. But the polls are now fundamentally flawed and really shouldn't be used any more since they can no longer be reliable. The fundamental flaw is that under current law that polling agencies are not allowed to call cell phones for polling purposes. Initially that wasn't a major problem but now about 50% of American households don't have a landline and only use cell phones. Since approximately half of the American population can't be polled the sample size is completely irrelevant cause it's now impossible to create a representative sample of the population.

Polls are so 2016. Besides, even with a small sample size, the stats will be misrepresented if they aren't favorable to the narrative.

Tatetopa Posted February 25, 2017 #20 Share Posted February 25, 2017 You can get a representative answer by asking a couple thousand people if the group is picked correctly. We use statistics in Engineering and Quality Control every day. It is also easy to bias a poll if you are the one taking it. Unlike medical and scientific studies, political polls are not usually subject to review of data by parties other than the group that compiled it. It could be fake news. Even though he has only been in office a month, people are creatures of habit. The way candidate Trump behaved for most of the last year is the way President Trump is currently behaving. He will probably remain true to that for his future term. He picked some brilliant, level headed guys for Defense and NSA; but most of his cabinet are denizens of the swamp he promised to drain. Too much focus on Wall Street, big banks, and CEO's the very people responsible for the poor economic state of the middle class.

Unusual Tournament Posted February 25, 2017 Author #22 Share Posted February 25, 2017 (edited) seeder... Trump is a hot head. I stand by that. He is argumentative. Ask anyone. He fought the media during his presidential campaign and he's still fighting them now. News flash! Trump won. Its over. Now Trump should show some of the same good sense in having his finger on the pulse of America and let it go. Trump needs to admit to himself that controlling the media is impossible and counter productive. Trump needs to get back to work!
