Farmer77 Posted February 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2017 The 1917 crisis in Russia proved to be the biggest shock to the world in the 20th century. In this special project, we will not pass judgment – instead, we will take a look back at this great, albeit daunting, page in the history of the former Russian Empire between February and October 1917. Month by month, we will document the greatest political upheaval of the previous century. Join us in studying the history of the Revolution! The Russian Revolution Clearly a bit of propagandizing going on however this is a piece of history which I am unfortunately undereducated about so I thought id share.

Not a bad little quick read here on the subject... http://www.spectator.co.uk/2017/01/why-putins-russia-will-be-keeping-quiet-about-1917/ From the opinion piece sourced above; "When the official Revolution Day rolls round on 7 November, the Kremlin will doubtless celebrate with a grand military parade in Red Square. But if last year’s was anything to go by, it won’t be a celebration of the original ‘colour revolution’. The Kremlin will be commemorating a different anniversary — the famous parade overseen by Stalin on the revolution’s 24th anniversary, 7 November 1941, in which troops marched out of Red Square to fight the Germans who had advanced to Moscow’s suburbs. Victorious wars are what the Kremlin wants Russians to remember."
