Search not working?

No matter what I do, I cannot get the 'Search' to work!

I select 'Topics', type a topic title, then 'search', and it spews out completely unrelated threads with none of the keywords in them!

It seems to be working - what specifically are you looking up that isn't returning the correct results ?

It doesn't seem to matter what i search for.

I know it comes up with 2017 results first, but the other options don't work for me.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong!

Try using less specific search terms - individual keywords work best.

I tried it with one of my favourite words, and it seemed to come up ok.

It only searches through posts that have been updated within the last year.

Or, at least that's what it says - no matter what setting I put it on.

I've overcome it by using Google's site-specific search function (type site:unexplained-mysteries.com after your search terms.)

It looks like this is something Invision has done to improve efficiency - most people only look for recent topics. It is actually possible to search through everything though, on the results page click "+ More search options" and under "last updated" click "any".

I'll have to check this out in more detail after the recent server issues have been resolved.

Update

As of the forum update this morning, the search is now correctly returning the full range of results again.
