acute Posted March 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 16, 2017 No matter what I do, I cannot get the 'Search' to work! I select 'Topics', type a topic title, then 'search', and it spews out completely unrelated threads with none of the keywords in them!
Saru Posted March 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted March 16, 2017 It seems to be working - what specifically are you looking up that isn't returning the correct results ?
acute Posted March 16, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted March 16, 2017 It doesn't seem to matter what i search for. I know it comes up with 2017 results first, but the other options don't work for me. Maybe I'm doing it wrong!
Saru Posted March 16, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 16, 2017 Try using less specific search terms - individual keywords work best.
Space Commander Travis Posted March 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted March 16, 2017 I tried it with one of my favourite words, and it seemed to come up ok. Showing results for 'sausages' in content updated in the last year. Found 39 results

Harte Posted March 19, 2017 #8 Share Posted March 19, 2017 It only searches through posts that have been updated within the last year. Or, at least that's what it says - no matter what setting I put it on. I've overcome it by using Google's site-specific search function (type site:unexplained-mysteries.com after your search terms.) Saru Posted March 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted March 20, 2017 It looks like this is something Invision has done to improve efficiency - most people only look for recent topics. It is actually possible to search through everything though, on the results page click "+ More search options" and under "last updated" click "any". I'll have to check this out in more detail after the recent server issues have been resolved.
