Acid attacks in Britain's capital are soaring to new heights, new data reveals.

A Freedom of Information request submitted by the Mirror shows that between 2011 and 2016, London had nearly 1,500 cases of the devastating crime, which burns the skin and leaves victims cowering from their injuries.

In the long term, the scale of the injuries are so scarring that victims can often suffer serious psychological damage as a result of the attacks.

Last year alone, there were 431 such acid attacks – a rise of 170 cases from the year prior.

The figures match a general UK trend, in which the crime rate for such attacks has risen by 50% since 2005.

Remember that this is a Londoner problem. It has nothing to do with the influx of Muslim migrants. The article doesn't even mention immigration, so there's your proof.

Not all Muslims are terrorists - but the treatment of women under Islam is far from "empowering".

Acid attacks are perpetrated in a number of countries and more often than not against women by their partners or other family members.

If you buy maximum concentration sulphuric acid it takes about 35 seconds before it starts burning and about 2 minutes before it begins doing any real damage. Depending on the material your clothes are made from it can burn through them instantly. The advice is to strip, dry the acid off yourself, then pour water over your face and anywhere else the acid has come into contact with. It isn't like the movies where it instantly melts through flesh. The people suffering horrific burns either dont have access to water, are prevented having access to water, dont know water neutralises acid, or are messing about instead of using it.

I think its about destroying someone's identity.

Miss Italy 2007 Gessica Notaro got acid attacked at the beginning of this year by her jilted African boyfriend. I won't post before and after pictures but there are some really sick people in this world. He needs putting down.

You would think so.

What is the penalty? Do any of the 82 Sharia courts in Britain ever enforce it?

Is there a major push-back against this evil and psychotic "Culture"?... or is this to become the New Normal ?

it seems to be,  new normal in uk, but this practice is very popular in middle east and asia.

i actually googled it,

Mr. Shah suggests that the data collected from police forces in the UK does reveal that Britain bucks the global trend with an increasing number of male victims of acid attacks, whereas globally, it's predominantly women or girls who are victims of premeditated acid attacks.
