seeder Posted March 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2017 Quote Watch robot builder construct house in two days It is smart enough to leave spaces in the brickwork for wiring and plumbing, and can even cut and shape bricks to size. A new robot builder can construct an entire house in two days - and never needs a tea break. Hadrian X is a giant truck-mounted robot that can lay up to 1,000 bricks an hour using a 30-metre arm, meaning it can stay in a single position throughout. Bricks are fed on to a conveyor belt which sends them along the robot's long arm - otherwise known as a telescopic boom. At the end of the boom is a hand which grabs and arranges the bricks, securing them with construction glue instead of cement.http://news.sky.com/story/watch-robot-builder-construct-house-in-two-days-10514890 additional vid in case any cant view it in the OP

+OverSword Posted March 27, 2017 #4 Share Posted March 27, 2017 The video makes a big deal about how this doesn't cost masons their jobs, and for now this is true but what about the second generation or third generation brick laying robot?

aquatus1 Posted March 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2017 Right. The advantage of the machine is that it makes the work get done faster, with the same amount of people. Also, it saves you on medical, as there is no longer as much physical stress on your construction workers.
