Panther Kittens Spotted in Florida Give Hope for Their Species’ Survival

This week, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission announced that trail cameras caught a pair of Florida panther kittens north of the Caloosahatchee River, the first evidence offspring in this area since 1973—the year the big cat was added to the endangered species list.

This is a great story and the hunters complaining that they are killing deer is ridiculous.  Deal with it boys.  Killing livestock is a problem, however, and that will only get worse as the cats learn they are easy pickings so the state or feds will have to compensate them for losses if they are protecting the panthers.   Beautiful animals, though, and glad they are bouncing back.

I hope they find some way to keep the panthers' attention directed at the deer. I don't care about a hunter  losing out on not being able to kill the deer. They're doing it for fun even if they consume the animal in the end. The cattle are a different matter, but one that's been around for more than a hundred years.
