Still Waters Posted April 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 23, 2017 A federal air marshal on a transatlantic flight left her loaded service weapon in the airplane's bathroom, where it was discovered by a passenger who gave it to a crew member before it was returned to the federal agent, CNN has learned. The incident happened aboard Delta flight 221, which was traveling from Manchester, United Kingdom, to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on April 6, and was reported to the air marshal's management days later. In a statement to CNN the TSA would confirm only that it is aware of an incident involving a federal air marshal on that date, and it is reviewing the circumstances. http://edition.cnn.com/2017/04/21/politics/air-marshal-gun-airplane-bathroom/
SHaYap Posted April 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Looks like its an all out competition among themselves to prove who among them is the worse of the lot .. ~
Still Waters Posted April 23, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Everyone makes mistakes but that could have turned out real nasty. It's lucky the passenger who found the gun and handed it in was an honest person.
SHaYap Posted April 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2017 Pardon me but for a Marshall to 'forget' his firearm is like the Pilot forgetting where the switches are to turn the engines on ... ~
PersonFromPorlock Posted April 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted April 23, 2017 (edited) Perhaps a small notice posted on the inside of the door, reminding concealed carriers to make sure they still have their gun, is in order? If you use a belt holster, it's a lot easier to get your pants down and back up if you take the gun out and put it aside, and occasionally people get distracted. Which is why pistols sometimes do get left in rest room stalls. Edited April 23, 2017 by PersonFromPorlock

Its an airplane, there should only be one person carrying a weapon on it , a person who is getting paid my tax dollars to be a professional.

Even a professional can profit from a reminder.

freetoroam Posted April 23, 2017 #11 Share Posted April 23, 2017 A former federal air marshal familiar with the situation told CNN that newly hired air marshals do not currently receive on-the-job training http://edition.cnn.com/2017/04/21/politics/air-marshal-gun-airplane-bathroom/ How very comforting! jeeeze. But how much training do you need as an air marshal to know you do not leave your loaded gun in the toilet? really...they need on the job training for that ?
