I had clicked on the 'where does your dog come from' thread, but then I saw this on exploding head syndrome. This comes first.

Despite the condition's name, no actual explosions take place when a person has exploding head syndrome

Oooooooh, back to dogs.

it is really the best title

that said, i've had this happen three or four times before. it's not fun! imagine being near sleep and suddenly a cannon goes off right next to your ear.

for me it was always during times of extremely high stress
