Still Waters Posted April 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2017 A bomb squad was sent to a beach in Yorkshire after a boy found a hoard of wartime bullets. The child is believed to have pocketed the bullets and the alarm was raised after they were discovered by adults. A bomb disposal team was then sent to Skirlington beach make the area safe. It is not clear whether the child took the bullets home or whether he was discovered with them whilst still near the beach, which is near a former RAF bombing range. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/04/30/bomb-squad-called-beach-young-boy-picks-hoard-wartime-bullets/
PersonFromPorlock Posted April 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2017 (edited) Those appear to be WW2 Brit 20mm cannon shells, which can (but don't always) carry a pretty good explosive charge. From the deformed condition of some of them, I suspect they've all been fired, and in a perfect world that would mean that those that could explode, did. Famously, the world is not perfect, so some caution is advisable. Edited April 30, 2017 by PersonFromPorlock
