Koala Bear Posted May 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 2, 2017 Im new to the forum but Im hoping to find some answers. Ive had numerous times in the past dreams were i can see things and places so clear. Places Ive never been before and I have a tough time physically getting out of bed. I feel like Im stuck between present time and the dream realm. I feel so out of source for a couple of hours in the beginning of my day. I feel tired and drained like Ive been traveling for days. Ive spooked family with details they cant figure how i know about things. Can someone tell me please what Im experiencing.

It is where your non-physical (astral) body travels while your physical body is lying prone. The fact that you say you have spooked people by knowing things you shouldn't know would be signs of astral travel as opposed to normal dreams/hallucinations. For fun, can you give us a good example of information you knew that you weren't supposed to know that spooked someone? This might help people here determine between ESP and astral projection theories too?
Future ghost Posted May 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 2, 2017 When you are having these dreams are you aware that you're dreaming and able to control some aspects of your dream? If so,you may be having a lucid dream. If not, then maybe you've been subconsciously picking up information during the day, like from a tv/radio,and then dreaming about it at night. That could explain how you know about some things you typically wouldn't. But,yes, do give us some good examples if you wouldn't mind.
Koala Bear Posted May 2, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted May 2, 2017 One of the examples I can give is Ive traveled in my dreams to what has been in the past and visited places Ive never visited before. I once visited a home and looked around the home and saw objects and came back and mentioned it to my husband and he has taken aback by the details i mentioned. I didnt really know his grandmother and he hardly spoke of her. Yet I visited her home years later after her passing and described what I had seen in my surroundings. My husband couldnt believe what I was describing. His words were how do you know these things? There are no pictures and no one has ever spoken about these things. ( These things only happened when I dream). At that time I cant move but my eyes pan around my surroundings and when I awake like Ive mentioned before I feel so tired and I can vividly recall things. It doesnt feel too me at the time like Im dreaming.

Can you make this happen or is it a random occurrence?

aka CAT Posted May 3, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2017 (edited) Welcome, Koala Bear. 4 hours ago, Koala Bear said: At that time I cant move but my eyes pan around my surroundings and when I awake like Ive mentioned before I feel so tired and I can vividly recall things. One's moving while astral projecting during his/her sleep is different than consciously doing so while awake, which has something to do with what people experience as sleep paralysis and, perhaps, with your feeling drained upon waking. Ease of movement in such a state requires different amounts of practice by persons whom are conscious of their thus dreaming, i.e. by lucid dreamers. Even after you master the nuances between your navigating your way through the dream realm versus wakeful life, you may still be very slow to want to get out of bed; after all, you'll want to recollect your dreamed experiences ASAP so as to not immediately forget them. To better recount and keep track of dreams, many UM members record or write them in journals. Transcendental dreams. Mr Walker Posted May 23, 2017 #8 Share Posted May 23, 2017 (edited) To comment on one thing. As a child learning to project my consciousness i found that the higher I few and the further i went, the greater mental discipline/concentration was required. Aged a few years i could fly around inside the house. A bit later i could fly around our yard at night and up onto a high tv aerial Then i started serious mental training by extending my flights out around the town and eventually across the bay (about 10 miles) to some offshore islands. While learning to fly further around the town and countryside i would rest on high tension wires or high tv antennas surveying the world going on below me when my energy levels were running low. . It took me YEARS to learn how to build up and maintain energy, through mental discipline, until I had enough to fly around the world ( even then i couldn't quite make it over the andes, without finding a low valley to get through) Eventually i could stay asleep, consciously concentrating, maintaining the dream ( or extension of consciousness) and travelling for thousands of miles I could and did travel right round the earth visiting places. Eventually as a young teenage i managed to escape earth's gravity and travel through the solar system . This didnt take as much energy as flying on earth BUT the relevant point here is that this required several hours of intense mental concentration while asleep and dreaming It took a lot of time and training to develop the concentration needed to fly over high mountains and eventually to get off earth. So, while asleep and projecting, i was always concentrating very hard, and you are right, this WAS physically exhausting just as intense concentration can be while you are awake. Luckily, as a child, i had to go to bed early and so i had lots of time to sleep and rest and recharge Edited May 23, 2017 by Mr Walker

It doesnt feel too me at the time like Im dreaming. For some time as a teacher and history buff, who has always been interested in astral projection and controlled lucid dreaming, i used this method to go back in time and study history, especially local history. I remember one dream when i visited the local hospital posing a s doctor back in the 1930s or so. All the doctors smoked The wards had ashtrays consisting of containers filled with sand and most of the male patients were smoking. The doctors wore 3 piece black suits and the nurses were totally deferential to them I talked with doctors about current surgery, a\ we inspected some operating rooms and wards. I had to keep my mouth shut most of the time because just as a general well educated layman of today i KNEW so much the doctors did not i had to keep my shirt buttoned up so they could not see my scar from heart surgery because such surgery would have killed a person back then (Only by maintaining a role as a current visiting doctor could i maintain the dream contextuality and coherence Thus i could not mention any thing about modern medical knowledge, or how the doctors might have saved lives. It was frustrating) .). Later i checked with older people and visited the local museum and found the hospital wards, theatres, etc (which had been demolished before i was born) to be exactly as i saw them in my dreams. The nurse's uniforms, equipment, beds, furnishings etc all matched. i'e also spent considerable dream time visiting and talking with my parents and grandparents and visiting them in their home well before i was born. That is both a lot of fun and educational. My grandfather died while i was only a few months old so listening to him, and learning from him, is particularly rewarding. Probably the most common place visited in all my millions of dreams is our old family home where i was born and raised. It was knocked down to make way for old people's units about thirty years ago. But if i am dreaming in present time, and not the past, then the home is still there, amongst the units. It is now occupied by others but restored to its original condition and they are happy for me to wander in and spend some time there withem. ( Its earliest part dated back to 1850) . If i dream about visiting it in the 40s or 50s or 60s, then it is exactly as it was, with a wood oven in the kitchen water fountain on the side for hot water copper for washing the clothes and an old philips 3 in one radio gram, and black and white tv set in the lounge room. with all the furniture exactly as it was during that period. I can sit down at the table and spend time with the whole family, talking about things, enjoying a meal or afternoon tea, and having fun.
