Witnesses report car was driving in the wrong direction. At least 13 sent to local hospitals. Some buildings are currently in lock down mode.

Oh dear, at least one person is dead (at this point).

Looks like the cops are treating the dude like it was an 'accident'.

Yeah, this is starting to look a bit like terrorism.

Yes, it could be due to drugs or alcohol...but it still is rather suspicious.

I will say this, if this guy was that drunk before noon...pretty awful.

Also saying he had committed a robbery (while drunk no less) and was attempting to 'get away'.

If this is true...what a moron he is.

“This didn’t look like an accident. The driver was steering into people.”

How odd...if he was just fleeing a robbery why try to purposefully hit people?

It's looking more and more like this was a drunk driving robber trying to escape custody.

Richard Rojas from the Bronx is in custody and will be tested for alcohol. This link has a lot of pics of the scene. FOX says 3 people are critical. They also say police were in pursuit for robbery when the incident happened.

When you are paranoid, everything does.

Since terrorists frequently use motor vehicles to mow down people, mowing down people with a motor vehicle tends to logically support such a thought.

Since most, if not all, the "vehicle mowing folks down" sorts of events lately have been terrorist efforts... I honestly thought the same thing when I first heard about this earlier. Then I heard there was a robbery.. and a regular crazy criminal instead of a terrorist one.

Still a horrifying and tragic event. The guy will likely get charged with some different things and likely spend a long time in jail.

I had a job at the supermarket, I had only been there 3 days when a car smashed through the window and into the building .

A couple of years ago, in our town, we had an out of control vehicle mount the curb, at high speed. Killing two people and seriously injuring a half a dozen pedestrians.

Niether of these, like the recent Flinders street incident, where politically motivated.

It's a symptom of today's society that we see terrorism before it is proven. The terrorists must love it. Inciting fear without trying.

When we jump to the conclusion we are under attack, the terrorists win.

“The bouncer from Planet Hollywood knocked him out. He knocked him out so bad you could see the blood coming out of his face. That's when I jumped in, I grabbed him from his neck and within about one minute everybody's there.”
