Smarty-pants have 40 new reasons to thank their parents for their powerful brains. By sifting through the genetics of nearly 80,000 people, researchers have uncovered 40 genes that may make certain people smarter. That brings the total number of suspected “intelligence genes” to 52.

I read the article prior to posting it, but cannot access the public comments section. Or are you referring to the latter part of the article where there is brief commentary on the notion of 'playing around' with these genes?

As I see it, this is a major advance in understanding the genetic underpinnings of intelligence. The scientists acknowledge that they may have just scratched the surface in terms of the total number of 'intelligence' genes, as well as the fact that these genes are not solely responsible for human intelligence and that the environment also plays a factor. But the findings are still, nonetheless, significant.
