glorybebe Posted May 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 30, 2017 (edited) It was a place for the elite Roman troops to clean up, relax and socialise after a hard day. The bath house for the largest fort on Hadrian’s Wall was undoubtedly an important part of life in this most northern outpost of the Roman Empire. Now, around 1,600 years later, this relic of a bygone era has been unearthed http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4553688/Roman-bathhouse-discovered-Cumbria-cricket-site.html Such a cool find. I would love to see some of these places myself. Edited May 30, 2017 by glorybebe
Astra. Posted May 30, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 30, 2017 Speaking of ancient Roman bath houses...Iv'e often wondered if it's true, that the Romans actually bathed in milk. Of course Cleopatra jumps to mind.
