freetoroam Posted May 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 29, 2017 A tiger had entered an enclosure with a keeper. The animals are kept in a house "The incident is not believed to be suspicious." http://news.sky.com/story/zookeeper-dies-at-hamerton-zoo-park-after-incident-involving-tiger-10897774 Very tragic. but always a very big risk, I see an investigation is under way, something went seriously wrong if the tiger managed to enter the enclosure while she was there. Not sure what the suspicious bit means.....as in no one deliberately let the tiger into the enclosure? if that is the case, then someone made a serious mistake of leaving the doors of the house open.
+and-then Posted May 30, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 30, 2017 That story brings images to mind that I'd sooner not have. What a ghastly way to meet your end. I hope they don't euthanize the cat for being a cat.

Still Waters Posted May 30, 2017 Author #6 Share Posted May 30, 2017 3 hours ago, and then said: I hope they don't euthanize the cat for being a cat. They haven't. Quote The tiger that killed her has not been put down and was unharmed, police said. The zoo described the keeper's death as a freak accident, and police confirmed it was not suspicious. A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-40089174
khol Posted May 30, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 30, 2017 I am sorry for the young lady. Im sure she loved her job and had an affinity for animals, but caging in wild animals the odds are this is going to happen. Many times the animal suffers the consequences along with the person. http://listverse.com/2013/03/22/10-horrifying-zoo-accidents/ Im not a huge proponet of zoos. Specifac animals have no place there and are best left alone in the wild or in preserves
Still Waters Posted May 31, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted May 31, 2017 Update: Quote Police have confirmed they are now investigating the death of a zookeeper killed by a tiger. Police attended the scene, but on Tuesday morning said Ms King's death was "non suspicious" and they were not investigating. They have now said while the "circumstances" are not suspicious, her death is still "unexplained". A joint investigation by police and Huntingdonshire District Council - which is responsible for licensing the zoo - is under way. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-40106355
