I think the mainstream interpretation is slightly different from yours. Think about it a little... you present what modern interpreters say are the differences. The link you presented clearly demonstrates the differences NOW not what happened then and how it happened then. Just two small examples from your link.... Belief of God: One God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.Only one God (monotheism). vs God is the one True Creator. God has always existed, none existed before him and will exist forever. He transcends life and death. Both are Monotheism... and exactly the same. The view of the nature of that God are what are different. Offshoot religions: Rastafarianism,Universalism, and Deism, and Masonry. vs Abrahamic religions -- Christianity and Islam. Well now that is interesting.... It does seem that Christianity is an offshoot from Judaism... just as I said. and quite contradictory to the initial observation.... Christianity and Judaism are two Abrahamic religions that have similar origins... It also brings to mind my initial observation which you seem to have taken exception to.... "common "root" or" branch". So good luck with your mainstream interpretation. Good luck reading the link in post 98. I prefer the term derived from, as the "root" itself disavows the branch. You are bringing modern interpretations such as the one above and declaring them to be actual historical fact. That is BS. Oh, I'm sorry. Did reality intrude on your fantasies, to the point you resort to profanity? All roads use to lead to Rome and the sun once never set on the British Empire. All that's history, too. One can include the US and other nations in references to the world in general, but not so much as having to do with Israel directly. Even if that is the case, the bible doesn't need to mention this. The problem as I see it is trying to make our personal corner of the world important enough to get a mention in the bible, even if one has to read things that aren't there. I understand your point and I'm not advancing an "America First" agenda here. God is not a respecter of persons. Christian Zionists and Evangelicals in general look for prophetic fulfillment since we actually believe in God's word. No accusations here but many just don't take God and his word seriously. It is more of an academic discussion for them. Since I DO believe in the prophetic fulfillments, I am a bit surprised that while the alliances and conflicts in the world in general and the M.E., in particular, are becoming more, not less indicative of this being the end times, the dominant power on the planet at that time should merit a reference. Some believe the US is Babylon. That's a hard sell imo.

But a reference to cow dung is really a diplomatic response not profanity. It is merely a reference to truthfulness or rather the lack of it... It is a modern interpretation...
