Border Wall Funds Approved

I heard the wall just got 10 ft higher...

Bill allocates $1.6 billion for Trump’s border wall

Quote

House Republicans said Tuesday they’ve included $1.6 billion in funding for President Trump’s border wall in their new homeland security spending bill, setting up fight with Democrats who have vowed to block any wall funding — even if it means sending the government into a partial shutdown.

GOP leaders said the $1.6 billion fully meets Mr. Trump’s request to begin wall construction, which includes 32 miles of new border fencing in Texas, 28 miles of levee wall along the Rio Grande Valley, also in Texas, and 14 miles of replacement fence in San Diego.

The bill also adds 500 new Border Patrol agents, 1,000 more agents and officers for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations in the interior, and provides enough money to maintain 44,000 detention beds. That’s a massive increase over the Obama years, and Trump officials said it will allow them to detain and deport illegal immigrants faster and with a higher success rate.

Between this, the SCOTUS ruling on Trump's travel ban and CNN sinking like a cinder block, it's a good day :tu:

Lets make the wall 25 feet high.

Run the first stretch from the Colorado River to the Rio Grande River.

TYT - gross. IDGAF if Mexico pays for it or not, if all the materials and labor used are American, the money stays in our economy so it's a win-win.

Matters none IYGAF or not ... that money has to come from somewhere and will definitely end up somewhere ... more than likely it will be a win but not a win-win, I don't think ~

We need a good concrete foundation.

Put solar panels on it.

Solar panels were being considered, though possibly only for trolling purposes. I am interested in which company got this "contract of a lifetime" and what their final design for the Wall looks like.

Most worthless idea ever.  Just more debt incurred by the American tax payer.

Secure the Border 1st.

Then move on to Step 2 , Step 3....

You realise that just staying in the American economy isn't necessarily a great thing. It's taking money from taxpayers and putting it in largely the pockets of massive corporations.

We should just wall off California while we're at it.

Build it at a discount.

America is already xenophobic enough already without building infrastructure to support this mindset. :( That's jobs and money that could have gone into things like building more schools or repairing aging buildings.

Katie Steinle and family would disagree with you.

Build the wall and attack the Sanctuary Cities.

Infrastructure upgrades are coming, if they haven't already been approved.

I have talked to people who identify as Republicans who are for and agents the wall. Same with independents for and agents it. But every liberal I hear is agents the wall. Basically, I rarely if ever hear any liberal disagree with any of the Democratic points of view.  That is very strange to me.
