Like I said in the Modern Mysteries section, before I even read this update, never trust a crazy, gun owning guy named Cosmo. Glad they got him.

DiNardo has confessed.

http://www.phillyvoice.com/reports-cosmo-dinardo-confesses-killing-four-bucks-county-men/

This is just an all-around sick case. DiNardo supposedly suffers from schizophrenia.

Our local news (I'm the next county north of Bucks) is saying DiNardo had an accomplice. It seems to all have something to do with drug transactions. Police are currently searching other parts of DiNardo's family's farm. He supposedly told them where the other 3 bodies are, so who are the unidentified remains found in the 12.5 ft hole with the only identified victim? We don't know if all 4 were buried in the same place.

Always interesting to get a local perspective !  I'm sorry that I couldn't get the video to play (my media player sometimes wonky)  completely so maybe this was mentioned and I missed but do you have any details on the 12 1/2 foot hole the bodies were in ?  I know there could be actual reasons for something like that on a farm but have they given any for this one ?  My thought being that his father was most probably a legitimate farmer so wasn't he going to notice a good section of the hole he'd dug filled up ?

Apparently, the guy was a drug dealer and also schizophrenic. He felt threatened or cheated during drug deals and he killed these guys. They found bones they haven't identified yet, so who knows how many they will ultimately find. He also claimed to have had an accomplice.

The hole is where they found the remains. They had to dig it up. They used cadaver dogs to find it. Now they're digging in other places on the farm. No one really knows whats going on but the police are supposed to have a news conference today to possibly name the accomplice they think DiNardo had. There may be more than those 4.

DiNardo's parents are saying nothing other than to offer their sympathies to the victim's families.

It's now being said a second person is in custody.

Local news isn't reporting that yet.

It sounds to me like the person he's claiming was an accomplice is/would be the fourth murder victim.

It's so frustrating when there is a question that doesn't come up !  Would you mind driving over there for the next press conference and asking them about that 12 1/2 ft. hole  everyone seems to be taking for granted ?   :P

I don't think the parents had anything to do with the hole. They had a 90 acre farm that provided a lot of room for this kid to use. Last night police were there digging in other areas of the farm.

I know the area where they're talking about. Doylestown is the Bucks County seat and it's about a half hour drive for me. If I didn't have to go to work, I could drive over. lol I think the press conference is this afternoon.

This is crazy stuff

The burial site of Jimi Patrick must have been what they were digging last night.

That is so sad for all the families.

This is what I don't get about allowing a mentally ill person a gun.  It is a time bomb waiting to go off.

Was this at Shrute Farm?

No Myles. DiNardo's parents own a 90 acre farm in Bensalem, Bucks County. There's been nothing in the reports indicating what kind of a farm it is. Shrute Farm is in Honesdale, Wayne County.

Here's some articles about DiNardo's parents. They are very well to do. The area they live in is very wealthy.

He was arrested for having the gun because under Pennsylvania law, he isn't allowed to have access to one because of his mental illness. That was one of two charges they used to keep him from fleeing. He was also arrested on a stolen property charge for having Meo's car and trying to sell it. His father posted bail on both the charges. This is a good article.

Then the father was aiding him whether he meant to or not IMO

My thoughts exactly !  I've been watching a murder series on A & E that I think is called "Evil Among Us"  (something like that).  It focuses on one of the people close to the killer and their narration of what they observed as the killer developed into the horrible monster they were.  I've been fascinated by the fact in most all cases these people seem to be as crazy as the killers.  What they are really good at is looking the other way and ignoring pretty obvious signs along the way.  Now these parents had to know something was up.  They bail him out on a gun charge and then somehow he seems to have access to all the guns he wants.  He's tooling around on a backhoe various times.  I wonder if it occurred to them to ask him what he was doing with it.  Because I'm going to bet they weren't used to seeing him involved in any industrious activities throughout the day on that farm.

Now four other kids are dead, shot with guns they allowed him in some way to have access even though by bailing him out previously they knew darn well it was against the law.  And each and every time this happens the press always cheers for the same sympathy for this type of parent as is awarded to the families of the victims.  In my opinion they should be prosecuted for the part they have played.

Edit:  I just read an article which talked about the school this nutcase attended, Holy Ghost Preparatory School.

http://www.holyghostprep.org/page.cfm?p=25

Take a look at the amount for tuition per year.

I'm reminded of the parents of the Columbine killers.  One of those mothers managed to remember her beauty shop appointment the day after the massacre and got herself to the beauty shop.  Then there's the father and brother of the Sandy Hook monster.  I won't even go into the mother's role of enjoying target practice with her son.  The father was innocent of everything because he had disassociated himself from that bothersome kid way before the murders and the brother gave a press interview several weeks after and whined that people just didn't realize how all of that managed to cause a real inconvenience in his onward and upward life.

Did his parents actually live on the farm? It was reported that they owned the property, but I don't know that they lived there.

I'm not sure the DiNardo farm was a working farm. The parents were involved in other businesses of their own.

I agree. The parents must have seen something odd in their son's behavior. A lot of people look the other way because they can't admit their loved one isn't acting right. They don't want to see a loved one locked up forever. Oh well. Too bad! People need to get out of that mindset and act before things really go south. Wealthy doesn't equal privileged. But a lot of poorer people do the same thing.

Well, I read that he was committed involuntarily. I don't know if it was his parents who did that, but someone did. And someone also saw fit to release him. And apparently, someone also botched the paperwork that would have allowed him to be charged over the gun possession.

There's also no background check necessary for the private purchase of long guns in PA. Hard to keep them out of crazy hands that way.

From one of the links:

n the February gun charge he still faces, DiNardo is accused of illegally being in possession of a shotgun and ammunition because of a previous involuntary commitment to a mental health institution. An affidavit in that case said he is "known to be suffering from mental illness."

Here's the gun laws in PA. Please try to read.

http://smartgunlaws.org/mental-health-reporting-in-pennsylvania/

He used his mother's 357 magnum pistol. From link below:

On July 7, two days later, both suspects told investigators, they drove to Mr. Finocchiaro’s home in Middletown, ostensibly to sell him four ounces of marijuana, but decided on the way to rob him instead. Mr. DiNardo said he had taken a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum handgun that belonged to his mother.

Also, I don't see anything botched. The kid isn't going anywhere in spite of the bail paid. Last of my clarification.

The mother of a young man who disappeared in Bucks County on June 1 has questioned the DiNardo case. She said she dropped her son off at a 711 and he told her he wanted to walk home. He had said someone was threatening him, but didn't give details. The mother circled back and saw what looked like her son getting into a car with a male with dark hair. Police do not believe at this time that the young man's disappearance is related to the DiNardo case.

It seems DiNardo and his cousin started out with petty crimes and both have pretty long records. The details of DiNardo's institutionalization have not been made clear yet.

DiNardo, 20, was banned from Arcadia University’s campus in 2016 after dropping out of school there, and a February gun charge against him in Bensalem was dismissed only because his mental-health commitment paperwork was filed incorrectly, sources told The Inquirer and Daily News on Thursday.

Must have been guns all over the place there...

When they arrived, Patrick said he only had $800, and Dinardo agreed to sell him a shotgun for that amount. Dinardo then took him to a remote part of the property, gave him a shotgun, and then shot and killed him with a 22 caliber rifle, according to the affidavit.
