This famous line from the 1967 classic film "The Graduate" was meant as advice for Dustin Hoffman's character, Benjamin Braddock, but in retrospect, it should have been a warning.

We have a throw away society.  It is cheaper and quicker to buy new rather than repair.  And a lot if the time the option is just not available to fix things.  It's pretty sad to see islands of garbage in our oceans and to know how full of plastic our landfills are.
