bison Posted July 28, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2017 (edited) The waxing crescent Moon will appear very near the bright evening star, Jupiter, in tonight's (Friday, Jul. 28th) sky, making for a fine sight in the early evening. Look to the West, Southwest, at a moderate sky elevation. For a challenging extra, try spotting the faint crescent Moon before dark, and watching its vicinity for the first appearance of Jupiter. Binoculars, if available, will be helpful in spotting the Moon, and especially Jupiter, then. Edited July 28, 2017 by bison
