+susieice Posted August 3, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2017 (edited) There goes another one... http://www.cnn.com/2017/08/03/middleeast/dubai-tower-fire/index.html This is the second time in two years. Dubai has also had issues with cladding on high rises. Don't know if it's involved here or not. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/torch-tower-dubai-fire-residential-building-united-arab-emirates/ Edited August 4, 2017 by susieice

Guest dubai Posted August 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Probably the "Torch" Tower will burn again after the current fire is contained. This tower is torched.

+susieice Posted August 4, 2017 Author #8 Share Posted August 4, 2017 I heard they used a lot of that same siding on a number of buildings in Dubai and there's been several fires. Thankfully the residents seem to be alright.
Guest dubai Posted August 4, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 4, 2017 At least the fires weren't caused by refrigerators, like in the Grenfell Tower fire.

+susieice Posted August 4, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) The fire was extinguished without any injuries. The reports are saying the damage occurred mostly to the cladding. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/03/world/middleeast/torch-tower-dubai-fire.html http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2017/08/04/541558324/multistory-fire-in-dubais-torch-tower-extinguished-without-injuries Edited August 4, 2017 by susieice
