If you ever get the chance, even though there's always the possibility it may be somewhat marred by the weather - DO IT.

It's an experience that is a bit like swimming with (preferably wild!) dolphins.  Even if you are not all that spiritual, you *will* be moved - it's an amazing and emotional experience.

 

I've been lucky enough to do both, and can very happily die now..... although I'm hoping to still be around in 2028 for the next big one in Australia..

The Jul 22, 2009 TSE over Iwo Jima island (Japan), site of a historic battle during WW2 (my maternal grandpa, a Marine, was in the battle, but based in on a ship on the beach), this eclipse had the longest totality in the 21st century so far (every 18 years, the moon in apogee/perigee-not sure, can be the longest like 5-7 minutes in greatest duration).
