T.I. Posted August 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2017 I was wondering how large the Jersey Devil was speculated to be. It happens to be my favorite cryptid and I was thinking of doing a "cryptid case file" on it.
Carnoferox Posted August 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2017 In Mysterious Creatures: A Guide To Cryptozoolgy the Jersey Devil's length is given as 11 feet and height as 6 feet. That's the only size estimate I've been able to find.
The Caspian Hare Posted August 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 23, 2017 I always heard six feet tall.
Podo Posted August 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2017 It was about the size of a human, or a bit bigger, I've read. Some accounts had it as more than two metres long, though, so who knows?
The Narcisse Posted August 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2017 11 ft length? That has to be close to a record...

I remember there being some episode on some supernatural show about it. I think it was Monsters and Mysteries. These two guys claimed to have encounters with the thing. It was conceived out of a parody written by Ben Franklin with a groin shot to Daniel Leeds then taken seriously by the London Gentlemens' Gazette in 1735.
