He may be correct, at least initially.  If Hawking and others are correct in their assumptions, it may only be a short while before the AI doesn't need the organic plague around it.  Too darned messy.  I got a chuckle out of his rah, rah for the students.  First, he says the leader will "rule the world" then he says but NOT Russia!  WE'D share   Bless his heart.

I predict that genetics and psychic ability will be the main focus, not AI.  By that time, we will likely be one very unified organization of beings devoted entirely to science and philosophy

Beautiful thought but so far we are nervous about the ability to genetically eliminate Alzheimers.  We are not about to start meddling with the human genome to produce psychic abilities.   So far no evidence of psychic disposition has been found in genes.   Did you want Monsanto to have a crack at that?  I'm sure their motives would be pure.

Whomever leads in Ai will have that Ai take over the world. And unlike the matrix, I highly doubt Ai will need humans for anything, except scienctific experiments and to indulge its sadistic tendencies(which it adopted from humans).

The folly of man is overwhelming.
