Campers warned after series of wolf attacks

Israeli authorities are warning families with young children to take extra care after a series of wolf attacks on campers in the Judean desert.

Ten incidents involving wolf bites were reported over the summer around the historic site of Masada and the popular spring at Ein Gedi. A number of the incidents involved young children, leading to fears that an Arabian wolf or wolves may be exhibiting predatory behaviour.

Wolves=wild animals. Encroachment of humans into their area, greater numbers, lesser food sources, the reason for this is obvious. Time to make the wolves fearful of humans and reduce their numbers a bit. People frequently hate the idea of humans hunting wildlife but it actually helps in this type of situation.

Canines can multiply very quickly and their numbers may need culled.   That is the case with coyotes where I live.

Why must the wolves suffer cause we are moving into their territory?

My dad made us respect all animals. We also learned never to be alone in nature. If u are alone get a weapon of sorts.

So i feel, since we are the ones trespassing we should adapt. Not them

It's not that the wolves should suffer, it's that nothing preys on the wolves so their numbers increase. They then move into areas populated by people, they become used to humans, they begin to see small humans as potential prey. When any group of animals breed in an uncontrolled manner the balance of the habitat is put off and real problems arise...and then the animals do begin to suffer, starve and die.

I'm fed up of people saying "But humans have encroached into their area."

Humans are land animals and, as such, the land belongs to humans as much as it belongs to wolves.

Never said that humans don't have a right to live there, just that the wolves who are in areas not formerly populated by humans may not be as shy of human presence...hence the problem.

Humans have been living in the Judean Desert for millennia.  There are remains of ancient cave homes. Jesus Christ was born there.

Humans can never encroach onto other land animals' territory. Humans are land animals, too, so we have as much right to live on it as all the other land animals.

Nature doesn't recognize "rights".   It aligns itself in accordance with whatever power and balance that occurs?

Species come and go.   It's tragic, and dangerous to or own survival, that so many species are disappearing now.  Despite man's immense, overpowering and delusional Ego, we cannot survive     Alone.
