The Speech

There’s not much to say but that this was very inspiring.  When you think the Left can’t go any further down, they do.  One has to wonder if any of the Left have a conscience?  What are they going to do next to top it?  What will be the limit that will give them pause?  Kelly just destroys Rep Wilson and she doubles down.

On a side note, Kelly mentions Dunford being his Causality Officer.  And now, he Chairman of the Joint Chiefs.  My brother started (as a gunny) under Dunford when he was a captain with the 3/5 and my brother escorted some of his men home.  So Kelly’s speech was especially poignant for me.

the only thing I could do to collect my thoughts was to go and walk among the finest men and women on this Earth. And you can always find them because they're in ArlingtonNationalCemetery.

Congress Woman says “Trump said X”

Trump says “I never said that”

Woman from the family involved says “He said it”

Kelly says “no he didn’t”

Trump spokesperson “Hey, do you all think it’s proper to question a general?”

Everyone else “it sounds exactly like something he’d say”

MAGA supporters “damn lefties, making up **** about the President again”.

Well in a country where people can call someone a "RACIST" after being called a "empty barrel" i think people owe Trump an apology

Being even so much accussed of being racist now days can and has cost people their jobs and reputations, yet people act like the old circus clown did nothing of any harm and have excused it away...

You Aussie's looking for a spare clown? :P

It's funny though, anyone who voted for the guy even if it was just an anti Hillary vote and they call the guy out when he's caught red handed screwing up is a MAGA Trumpet in their eyes...

Have you noticed how many times i myself have been responded to with that garbage since last November?

Hell me and you had a wee bit of a dispute last November when i said i was a Ron Paul Libertarian that lasted about 10 minutes and we never got into a b**** fest over it lol...i just don't get this religious minded crap people have about "other party" people...

Eta

It is wild though that i know several people who "identify" as Democrats still but are really now days 3rd party, the previous 8 years completely changed the make up of their party and they've yet to fully take notice lol

First off - that was a good speech in the OP coming straight from the heart - especially as General Kelly himself
lost his own son while on duty -

I've said it before and I'll say it again negative spin can be applied to anything so I agree with you about how
all this is yet more misrepresentation of the present POTUS - but using the death of American soldiers to try and gain
political advantage ... in the way this was... is really scraping the bottom of the barrel -

In Britain the BBC is funded by a compulsory licence and is in theory, supposed to be impartial and unbiased ..
but it is anti Brexit and anti Trump -- never missing an opportunity to present any news that a negative spin can
be applied to  and Trump is a major target .... they do it all tut tut, holier than thou.. sometimes in a really up front
way sometimes in more subtle ways ... so they probably salivated at the Trump Phone Call story and gave it a completely
negative spin --

Yesterday I was listening to BBC Radio 4 in the car and they did a piece about Obama and Bush doing big speeches
where they were basically taking pot shots at Trump and his administration (without naming names)..... the two former
presidents were doing a massive (coordinated?) negative spin, misrepresentation job and the BBC loved it --

''''''oh boo hoo Trump...oh see how both the Democrats and Republican hate him --- oh boo hoo--- whine whine --
hand wringing all round -- oh what is to become of America and all of us'''''''

Like Obama and Bush the BBC supports New World Order type globalism --

and on the subject of barrels ---- (and the obligatory counter attack of racism --)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5000710/Wilson-hits-John-Kelly-barrels-charge.html

The

Florida Democrat also accused Kelly of using a 'racist' epithet against her during a White House news conference on Thursday afternoon, where he compared her to an 'empty barrel.'

Wilson said that after looking it up in the dictionary, she had concluded that 'empty barrel' is a 'racist term.'

And if Kelly had called her “that woman” she’d be decrying his sexism.

Congratulations madam, you are now the person who cried wolf. Irrespective of anything that really happened, you’ve gone and given the detractors everything they need to ignore you.

Yesterday my wife showed me a clip of Lawrance the moron from MSNBC, trashing Gen. Kelly as a racist.

I typed out a whole long post on my thoughts and what I honestly would have gone and done to Mr. Personality but, I knew the Mod's would not care much for it so I save them a little trouble and erased it myself.

I'm not, nor have I ever been a violent man but I would have gone and kick the s..t out of that smug little b****** if I was the General.

The MSM keep hitting new lows. I didn't think it was possible.                 I'm going fishing.

He did say no one should have listened in (after saying he listened in).

And he claimed the Congresswoman said things she didn't. Proven by video that she didn't say them.

But how dare we all question someone who is lying.

Bottom line...this is a Gold Star family.

If they feel insulted (and they do), then the President should apologize to them...not make a media circus out of it, while STILL not acknowledging the deaths, publicly.

The talk should be about what happened to the men who were killed. It shouldn't be about what ridiculous thing the President said this time. But somehow, he has managed to make even this about him.

What's really interesting is how what he says, he's making about you.

It's his ego that is just revolting.

Nothing stands in the way of smoothing this out except his ego.

If smoothing it out was even a thing he wished to do.

That's because a lot of people would rather stay seated on their toilets than get the TP in hand to wipe their ego and blame some one else for the stench in the room.

Well, politeness, civility and political correctness are dead.  People/politicians can and will speak up on anything that crosses their mind regardless of tact.  This whole gold star issue isn't a one off case, but rather a trend.  I wouldn't get too upset about it.  I've come to accept it as the new norm.

It reminds me of when I was teaching and kids would just outright deny doing something you just watched them do.

In other words, it's the attitude of a 7 year old...

I agree with some of this,as in if the family felt disrespected Trump should apologize even if he didn't intentionally mean to offend them...

On the other hand many are just pinning this "scandal" as some have described it completely on Trumps love of a media circus all the while ignoring Ms "Rock Star's" roll in all this just shows their love of faux outrage and the lengths they can/will go to to play partisan games...

To add i can't for the life of me see how Trump is the one making this about him...When i turn on my tv the MEDIA and Ms "Rock Star" are the ones continually screaming TRUMP during this story ;)

In the future i would like to see Trump just stay quiet on some things but we all know that's not going to happen lol
