The first official photo of Jodie Whittaker as she will appear in Doctor Who has been released.

She is seen in cropped teal culottes with yellow braces, as well as a striped jumper and long trench coat.

The Broadchurch and Trust Me star has begun filming as the 13th Time Lord.

Whittaker, the first female Doctor, takes over from Peter Capaldi and will make her debut on screen when the Doctor regenerates in the Christmas special on BBC One.

Yuck.  The pants and suspenders are just bad.  Regardless, I hope she does better than the failed attempt to turn Thor into a woman, but really wont be shocked if ratings drop off a bit.

Some people put way too much thought into things.

I quite like the outfit. It has nods back to previous Doctors: - the stripes on the jumper are referencing Tom Baker (because he wore a multi-coloured striped scarf) and to a lesser degree Colin Baker (who wore a multi-coloured coat and outfit)

Some of those are really quite a stretch.

Ouch, mmm, welll... The doctor has changed attire before, I kind of hope that outfit is only a temporary one.

I’ve liked all the prior costumes. But this one .... sheesh.

maybe she’s raiding her old companion’s wardrobes, and in the first story she’s been in Sarah-Jane’s closet.
