My thoughts too.

It could be that Will aligns with code law, that which is mandated by imposition.

I was curious as to what he was avoiding.

Some people lead; some people follow. Some like to stray off the main trail with eyes seeking sign and traces of roads not often travelled. I was always a free-roamer, in my youth, seeking the solace and serenity of Frost's "Road Less Travelled By". I'm not much of a follower, myself. I learned not to become too enamored of the words of others, having the will and skill to forge better ones of my own.

Sheri, I don't want to be rude. Everyone has their capacity to understand certain things or not.

My dad asked me the same thing several times.

I'm sorry, but I don't scratch my head anymore when I'm asked about what's to me, and I'm also pretty sure is to many others, one of the most basic things to percieve as a human being. Spirit realities.

No disrespect. Everyone isn't the same in that regard, I'm begrudgingly coming around to understand.

Will, how does this address my question?

What is spirit?

It's what is projected from the greater reality above that casts a shadow down, which we percieve as the material world.

That's how I see it.

It's Plato's, Allegory of the Cave, to which he refers.

Good pull, he is Plato's Allergory of the Cave.

It must be how he survived his conditioning.

I have Carl Sagan to thank for first knowing of it.

It is an observation, not a value judgement. How you cope is your call and right. I have no dog in your fight.

For me, when I took Philosophy of Mathematics, it was used to analogize learning and how it applies to math. It has always stuck with me.

Mathematics was always a bug-bear, for me. Thinking mathematically made my mind feel like it was being contorted into a shape it was not meant to be. It became a lot easier when I learned how to use a slide rule.

Will, you are a fine fellow, albeit with all the enthusiasm of the recently converted. Sheri is wise beyond her years and I'm an old fellow, a gentleman scholar without portfolio. We're rather above average in discernment and with discriminating tastes for what we intellectually ingest. We set the bar rather high, that's all.

me too. "spirit" - maybe not precise. but a "higher" archetypal reality. yes allegory of the cave comes to mind.

I concur, Will is a nice guy I'd say with his own demons, my opinion is whatever helps him is his call and I wish him the best.

We do not stand in judgement of him, au contraire we wish him the best.
