There's not much out there about it but I did come across this from 2006 : Update on AOL Blocking of Website Address Net neutrality is important. See below. These guys are spot on. Spic and Span. WE THE PEOPLE control the market. Trump and his team know this. We ALL know this. YOU probably know this. Said this from the start... Internet providers are going to be in much more competition now, they HAVE to give you the best for your money, because if you don't, you won't stay. My brother in law in RURAL Canada has the choice of over 4 different tower internet providers, so don't tell me in the good ol' U.S of A that people don't have the choice, there's only 1 in some areas. I don't believe it... MAYBE, just MAYBE in Alaska or Guam or something. Believe it or not, I'm 100% for freedom, small government, more choice, etc... I don't see anything wrong with crapping all over Net Neutrality, it was a sham.
Gromdor Posted January 29, 2018 #177 Share Posted January 29, 2018 I just saw this today and had to laugh a bit: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/28/trump-administration-could-build-nationalized-5g-mobile-network.html Since net neutrality does involve carriers, and what not.

Cognitive dissonance aside I'm very curious on as to how that will play out. There's a large part of me that thinks internet access should be a right in America and this infrastructure being put in place could be the first step towards that. On the other hand I read an article this AM that made alarm bells start ringing for me a little The Useful Idiocy of Donald Trump (I hate the title of the article because its really an indictment of the entire system, Trump just happens to currently be at the head of said system) Quote As natural resources become scarce and the wealth of the empire evaporates, a shackled population will be forced to work harder for less. State revenues will be squandered in grandiose projects and futile wars in an attempt to return the empire to a mythical golden age. The decision to slash corporate tax rates for the rich while increasing an already bloated military budget by $54 billion is typical of decayed civilizations. Empires expand beyond their capacity to sustain themselves and then go bankrupt. The Sumerian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Mayan, Khmer, Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian empires all imploded in a similar fashion. The lessons of history are clear. But the illiterate charlatans who seize power in the dying days of empire know nothing of history. They are driven by a primal and inchoate lust for wealth, one that is never satisfied no matter how many billions they possess.
