Climber amputates his arm, hikes to safety

MOAB, Utah (AP) -- A Colorado climber amputated his own arm Thursday, five days after becoming pinned by a boulder, and he was hiking to safety when he was spotted by searchers, authorities said.

Brave man. Hope he recovers OK

I guess he will as he had the strength (mental and physical) to save himself.

He's made the news in this part of the world!

My sons reckon that is soooo gruesome but he must be a

very brave guy. (Also some sick kid humour was mentioned

-they are 9 an 10 after all- but I'll spare you all that...)

This one made the news over here too . In the words of MM that guy's got some big stones wink.gifbiggrin.gif . I think if some people can get them selves out and some people can't . I hope like crazy I would be able to do it .

I have also herd about this guy. He broke the bones inside his arm using his bare hands scared.gifeyecrazy.gif nasty!!!!!
