_hAiLO_ Posted August 24, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2005 I don't normally sing songs that glorify God. But when I go to church, I like to hear some of my favorites. Hear's one of them: "One Bread, One Body" One bread, one body, One Lord of all, One cup of blessing which we bless. And we, though many, throughout the earth, We are one body in this one Lord. Gentile or Jew, Servant or free, Woman or man, No more. One bread, one body, One Lord of all, One cup of blessing which we bless. And we, though many, throughout the earth, We are one body in this one Lord. Many the gifts, Many the works, One in the Lord, Of all. One bread, one body, One Lord of all, One cup of blessing which we bless. And we, though many, throughout the earth, We are one body in this one Lord. Grain for the fields, Scattered and grown, Gathered to one, For all. One bread, one body, One Lord of all, One cup of blessing which we bless. And we, though many, throughout the earth, We are one body in this one Lord.

Grandpa Greenman Posted August 24, 2005 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Here is one of my favorites ritual songs we sometimes sing. WE ALL COME FROM THE GODDESS We all come from the Goddess And to Her we shall return Like a drop of rain Flowing to the ocean We all come from The Horned One And to Him we shall return Like a flash of flame Ascending to the heavens Hoof and Horn, Hoof and Horn All that dies shall be reborn Corn and grain, corn and grain All that falls shall rise again Don't know who wrote it. 101 Posted August 24, 2005 Author #6 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Darkwind that is a neat song. It is one that really expresses how a person feels toward the goddess. What is the horned one? A man. The guy I know who is pagan only talks of the goddess. I never heard of this guy.
mako Posted August 24, 2005 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2005 Deists have no songs, we do not praise that which does not ask for praise, but my favorite Christian song is Amazing Grace, probably because it was the first piece I learned to play on the bagpipes - Lo those many centuries ago! Beastmode Posted August 24, 2005 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2005 I would have to say "All in ALL" and "Heart of Worship" of coarse Amazing Grace always makes me cry, in a good way.

LOL 807336 Are you serious about the bag pipes? That is so cool. But why does your creator not want worship? Are they not superior to you? I know that to show my love to God I pray and worship him. That makes me feel like I show him all the love I can give. Plus by showing love to others. nativechick1989 Posted August 24, 2005 #11 Share Posted August 24, 2005 I have many favorite hymns to glorify God, but here is one of my favorites. "Jesus Loves Me" Jesus loves me! This I know, For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong. Refrain Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so. Jesus loves me! This I know, As He loved so long ago, Taking children on His knee, Saying, “Let them come to Me.” Refrain Jesus loves me still today, Walking with me on my way, Wanting as a friend to give Light and love to all who live. Refrain Jesus loves me! He who died Heaven’s gate to open wide; He will wash away my sin, Let His little child come in. Refrain Jesus loves me! He will stay Close beside me all the way; Thou hast bled and died for me, I will henceforth live for Thee. Refrain

Faeden Posted August 25, 2005 #15 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I Listen to Christian music a lot mostly carols, because I think they are pretty, Silent Night is my favourite, I love singing along to that. I also like Gregorian Christian monk chanting, it makes me feel all spiritual and relaxed, I sometimes meditate to it. I also used to love singing this song when in school assembly..... All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, God made their glowing colors, and made their tiny wings. All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. The purple headed mountains, the river running by, The sunset and the morning that brightens up the sky. All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, The ripe fruits in the garden: God made them every one. All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. The tall trees in the greenwood, the meadows where we play, The rushes by the water, we gather every day. All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. God gave us eyes to see them, and lips that we might tell How great is God Almighty, Who has made all things well. All things bright and beautiful, All creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful: The Lord God made them all. All the best Faeden

Grandpa Greenman Posted August 25, 2005 #18 Share Posted August 25, 2005 Darkwind that is a neat song. It is one that really expresses how a person feels toward the goddess. What is the horned one? A man. The guy I know who is pagan only talks of the goddess. I never heard of this guy. 807326 My Avatar is a depiction of the Horned God. He is the God of the hunt, the forest, the animals. He is the consort of the Goddess: it is his rebirth that brings the forth the spring and summer and his death that brings the winter. As the Goddess is represented by the Moon he is represented by the Sun. Here is a good link that explains all about him. The Horned God I like to have balance, so I like to include male energy and female energy. Goddess was ignored for a long time so the focus on Her, I guess, makes up for the neglect. Thank you for your interest 101.
Turtle Posted August 25, 2005 #19 Share Posted August 25, 2005 (edited) Music is an exciting topic for me. Why do we all have some connection to music. Some like country ( like Me) some rock, some Hip Hop, reggae, soul, It is a shame that we all can accept peoples differences in music, but not religion....but I digress Some of my "contempoary favorites" are Show me the Way-----Styx The River------Garth Brooks Dust in the Wind------Kansis It feels Like Home to me---Chantel Kraviasuk Carry on Wayward son-----Boston Angels Amongst Us----- Brooks and Dunn Edited August 25, 2005 by Turtle

Darksome night and shining Moon, Hearken to the Witches' rune. East then South, West then North, Hear! Come! I call Thee forth. By all the powers of land and sea, Be obedient unto me. Wand and Pentacle and Sword, Hearken ye unto my word. Cords and Censer, Scourge and Knife, Waken all ye into life. Powers of the Witches' Blade, Come ye as the charge is made. Queen of Heaven, Queen of Hell, Send your aid unto the spell. Horned Hunter of the night, Work my will by magick rite. By all the powers of land and sea, As I do say, "So mote it be." By all the might of Moon and Sun, As I do will, it shall be done. Eko, Eko Azarak, Eko, Eko Zamilak, Eko, Eko Cernunnos, Eko, Eko Aradia.

fawkes2 Posted August 26, 2005 #25 Share Posted August 26, 2005 I have so many songs I love, but a newer one that I really absolutely love is "Here I am to worship". Chorus X2 808694 that is such an awesome song l lreally like it too! (l have so many favorites its hard to name them all . l also like the song 'The Lighthouse' There's a lighthouse on a hillside that overlooks life's sea. When I'm tossed He sends out a light, light that I might see. And the light that shines in darkness now Will safely lead me on If it wasn't for the lighthouse This ship would sail no more. Oh I thank God for the lighthouse I owe my life to Him King Jesus is the lighthouse Upon the rocks of sin He has shone a light around me That I could clearly see If it wasn't for the lighthouse Then where would this ship be. Everybody that lives around us says tear the lighthouse down You know the big ships they don't sail by this way no more so what's the use of it standing 'round? Ahh, but then my mind goes way on back to that stormy night, when just in time, oh thank God I saw the light T'was the light from that old lighthouse that still stands up there on a hill. Oh I thank God for the lighthouse I owe my life to Him King Jesus is the lighthouse Upon the rocks of sin He has shone a light around me That I could clearly see If it wasn't for the lighthouse Then where would this ship be. Oh, If it wasn't for the lighthouse Then where would this ship be.
