Tommy Posted April 19, 2002 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2002 Having purchased a packet of 3 Jaffas (snack pack) today and studied the wrapper, I have made a few observations... The wrapper has highlighted on it: 3 cakes :s6 However, the makers, McVitie’s, is a registered trademark of 'United Biscuits (UK) LTD'. What is a biscuit firm making ‘cakes’ for you might ask yourself… :sr So I have come to the conclusion that a jaffa-cake is a biscuit at heart, trapped in a cake’s body.:s03 Tommy :s04

Saru Posted April 23, 2002 #19 Share Posted April 23, 2002 I saw a new type of Jaffa Cakes in the supermarket the other day that were like ordinary Jaffa Cakes, but with a biscuit on the bottom and didn't have the cake-like part at all. I can't remember what they called it, but it looked like the closest thing to a Jaffa Biscuit you can get. :s06 ( I think this thread should get a prize for the most bizarre and irelevant topic every posted ;D )

dalia Posted April 24, 2002 #23 Share Posted April 24, 2002 Ok, y'all...usually when I post on a subject, the subject is totally dropped...so here goes: The difinitive answer to whether a Jaffe Cake is cake of bisquit (which may not apply in the UK) is: bisquits are not sweet! So there! Dalia
Tommy Posted April 25, 2002 #24 Share Posted April 25, 2002 LoL Dalia, :s2 Interesting hypothesis... so what does that make the Jaffa cake biscuit?? ??? Surely you all don't think the jaffa-cake biscuit is a cake as well??!!! :s01 :s8
