Waspie_Dwarf Posted March 18, 2007 Author #51 Share Posted March 18, 2007 (edited) perhaps in the United Kingdom it became official yesterday. Its been official in the USA for months. It became official the moment the International Astronomical Union voted on the issue in August 2006. It has been in the news again recently because the legislature of New Mexico was due to vote on a bill to ignore the decision of the worlds professional Astronomers and vote to declare that "Pluto is still a planet". The vote was due on 16th March but I have yet to see the result. I suspect it is this that has confused magic-meercat. I am merging this with the main "Is Pluto a Planet?" thread as there have been many threads on this subject.
