WASHINGTON (Reuters) - NASA (news - web sites)'s Voyager 1, built to last just five years to probe Earth's planetary neighbors, has reached the solar system's final frontier and may have surfed into interstellar space, more than 26 years after its launch.

And will return 1500 years later as a artificial intelligence and try to destroy earth, whilst a captain gets his shirt ripped and saves the galaxy. blink.gif

The Voyager 1 is going to end up getting taken by aliens and then aliens are going to attack us, but I hope its in the net 1000 years. tongue.gif

The Voyager 1 & 2 spacecraft have enough power left to remain operational until around the year 2020.

This is where we need a space type expert .....

The new material it encountered was depleted in carbon, characteristic of interstellar plasma.
I don't know how they can tell it is similar to interstella plasma ... What on earth is interstellar plasma?
