Viking may have missed life on Mars

7 posts in this topic

news icon rNASA’s twin Viking spacecraft may have missed signs of life during their examination of the Martian surface 30 years ago. Researchers now say that the landers’ experiments were not sensitive enough to find life and in any case may not have been able to spot the strange forms that Martian life might take.

The results from Vikings’ onboard experiments are confusing because some tests suggested the presence of organisms capable of digesting organic molecules.

Knowing human history tells you what we would do. We would find a way to destroy them.

In fact, Mars was a threshold of life, however, cosmic "armaggeddon" did them in.

Humans or their like, were present, but suffered the likes of that "armaggeddon" that your bible and koran speaks of. Mars was once the oasis that Earth is now.

The nearby Astoriod Belt did Mars great harm. Mars was once a temporate planet with weather not too different from Earth. The planet was about 10 degrees cooler, but life did evolve and was thriving until the natural bombardment. Many Earth life forms are forms of Martian life. Yes, Martian life is the basis of life on Earth.

"Spock here Captain." "Ready to beem up?""Yes, Jim". " Mr. Scott, beem Spock up." " Aye, Jim".

You know, before I read the article, I had a very odd image of a Viking Longship playing a game of chicken with a Martian spaceship. A sort of...13th Warrior meets War of the Worlds crossover...
