The Big Bang Question

12 posts in this topic

Hi Everyone

I have a questions, which probably don’t have any answers but i'll ask anyway. I was watching a TV programme a few weeks back about the beginning of the universe. One theory that was mentioned was that the big bang was created by gas of some sort. Now I am the sort of person who then has to think “well where did these gases come from” and “what ignited them”. I was just wondering if anyone has any theories that may provide answers to my question.

I don’t ask for much do I… lol :P

This response comes almost a year after thread was initiated. 8)   While aimlessly wandering the internet in search of pornography astronomical knowlwdge, I came across an interesting theory, and an interesting idea. The theory is that a quantum fluctuation gave rise to the Big Bang. Excerpt from article: "Quantum mechanics says that matter and energy can appear spontaneously out of the vacuum of space, thanks to something called a quantum fluctuation, a sort of hiccup in the energy field thought to pervade the cosmos." The idea is that there could be more than one universe. Another excerpt from same article: "And the thing about quantum fluctuations is that they can happen anywhere, any time. And if our universe was born out of a quantum fluctuation, say theorists, then it's possible that other quantum fluctuations could have spawned other universes." And there's me thinking a "Quantum Fluctuation" was caused by eating too many beans.  :sj

Sheff_Pud,

I don't recall any astronomer SPECIFICALLY saying Quantum Fluctuations wasn't caused by eating too many beans. So I wouldn't rule it out :s02

good point, well made Homer. I wish the scientific community would take up your lead in a more honest approach to things
